A note the title has absolutely nothing to do with Bingo Wings, please read the book to find out what a Bingo Dress is and why they are no more! But if you come from the North of England like Marsha below - perhaps you already know?
"I think the main thing I should say about this book is it wasn't what I expected at all. I didn't expect to laugh more than I cried when reading this wonderful book. I've never read anything as positive or with so much courage about this subject, ever.
I would recommend everyone should read this book, as we all will know someone who's life is 'interrupted' by cancer at some point and the advice given, the experiences shared have certainly opened my eyes to how I've already reacted when friends and family have faced such an interruption.
The 'Top tips' and 'Things I wish I'd known' list should be on the wall of every waiting room of every clinic across the country. I'm going to be a 'Positive Person' instead of a 'Negative Nelly' more often!
And for the record.... I'm from Middlesbrough and yes I know what a 'bingo' dress is :) Well done, a truly inspiring and 'different' book." Marsha Dolan
No More Bingo Dresses
"Rosie’s personal dialogue about her experience with breast cancer is frank and honest. Her open approach to a challenging and sometimes ‘taboo’ subject is both refreshing and empowering.
She is passionate about conveying the importance of developing and maintaining a positive attitude, and she details how she used NLP techniques so that others may feel encouraged to model her approach.
Rosie shows determination throughout, and this is more than matched by her ‘wicked’ sense of humour – I still giggle at the thought of Rosie imagining life with a false leg tucked in her bra – her idea of a prosthesis!
It is a testament to Rosie’s courage and generous nature that she has chosen to share her thoughts and feelings through “No More Bingo Dresses”, and I am sure this will empower others facing a similar journey."

So this is ‘my take’ on my breast cancer and, as my breast care nurse at one point pointed out to me, I am different to other women. Yes well, I’ve grown up knowing that and since 1994, I’ve also grown up a bit more and I know it’s ok to be different and it’s ok to be me, and being me I can actually help and apparently inspire others. So I hope that you find this entertaining (it is meant to be – some bits are very funny and oh! very real) and useful. Remember, I’m not and not claiming to be an expert on cancer or treatments, but I am a human being, I’m a Mum, I’m a Granny, I’m a partner to my man Jim, and I am somewhat an expert at using and training NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming – stay with me, you’ll find out more in this book) and I need, like we all do, ‘a little help from my friends’ (especially when we’re out of tune).
