Testimonials about the Client NLP Courses

Stop press - comment from a satisfied client

So how have you used what you learned in that relatively short space time in the time that has passed since 4 years ago?

An understanding of NLP allowed me to examine just how both the general public and our more regular “customers”  respond to our communications, and to influence just how we go about both listening to what they are saying to us, and getting our messages across.

What problems has it helped you to avoid?

Not such an easy question to answer, …however, dealing with issues and concerns relayed by customers quickly, and zeroing in on exactly what they’re getting at, can prevent loss of confidence in SEPA and the likelihood that customers will change tack, and either complain that we’re not taking the matter seriously, or choose to take their problem to either the media or a politician.

And what have you been able to achieve that would otherwise have not happened/happened in a different way/taken longer?

I think that some understanding of NLP has helped me think about culture change within the organisation and to encourage staff to adopt attitudes and practices that save us time.  This is particularly important during the period of rapid change happening to us, and all public service.

Practice Group Session Edinburgh

.. a great big thank you to Rosie O’Hara for entertaining us right royally last Saturday.  Her story is remarkable and the information she gave us about how she used her NLP skills to deal with her medical challenges was fascinating – great learnings for us there.  Her book on the subject – My Left Breast – is due out later this year.  It will be well worth the read.

Presenting Magically

This was helpful for me to reinforce what I've learned about NLP and to tst myself in a different environment.  Douglas Johnston, Inverness

Fantastic! I know this course is really going to help me understand my clients better and help me be able to deal with awkward clients in a better way!    Lucy Tuck, Definition Beauty, Aberdeen

Moray Council Payments Section Teambuilding Day!

The remit was to get a large group of people working together and understanding one another (and thus their service users too!) better.

I appreciated the resources brought along to make the day fun; I will use key words and “how” instead of “why” over the phone; need to work more on my own communication skills; appreciated working together as a team; working with others, working with my team was fab; will use 'how’ instead of ‘why’, need to work on not looking down and thinking more about other people and how they communicate, not taking it personally; the day was educating, knowledgeful and fun it makes you think; will use more positive language specially with my family (kids); I appreciated each team's different perception, it was interesting and enjoyable; I will think before I speak to people to get the most of what I want, getting to know others better; it gets people talking and to have a laugh at work; I plan to use the words from the sheets; I will work on how I ask people to do something; I appreciated working with my colleagues and how talented they are; the day is useful for team building; I plan to use less jargon in communication; I need to work on being more receptive to colleagues; it was very enjoyable; it was better than expected, but then we didn’t know what to expect; it was well worth attending; I need to work more on realising not everyone is the eternal optimist; I appreciated the chance to work the rest of payments; it was fun!

Courses at Inspire, Aberdeen 2008 - 2009

I’ve always been interested in how the mind and the body can be used to influence and understand the way in which we communicate. The likes of Derren Brown and others have always fascinated me by the way they use a variety of methods to facilitate their communication. I got the opportunity to attend three training days provided by Rosie O’Hara. Each day has made me think and reconsider my own ideas about the effect that I can have on people and the effect they can have on me. It’s made me challenge some of my own viewpoints. I’ve maintained an open-minded scepticism throughout the courses, but have always been able to discuss any points I had with Rosie. As a facilitator, I always found Rosie very willing to listen and help individuals to understand the different bits of knowledge that she was imparting. I have come away with a better understanding of how myself and others communicate and a desire to find out more.”

George Agnew, Learning & Development Business Partner. Aberlour Child Care Trust - Aberdeen

I found the training that we did absolutely brilliant, I felt really positive after the training, and I will have the courage to try and resolve the issues I have at my workplace.

Thank you very much.
