I’ve always wanted to understand how the world works. I loved learning science (chemistry and materials science degrees). In my first jobs I grew crystals, and helped people make better sewer pipes (those ones like red flower pots). It was brilliant practice at discovering patterns in the way things are happening. (Just like NLP, though I hadn’t heard of it then).
I’ve been a manager looking after 200+ technicians, a volunteer literacy tutor, a self-employed sole trader, I’ve acquired an MBA, an NVQ in business counselling and a certificate in entrepreneurial training, I’ve worked in London, South Africa, the north-east of England and now Scotland, I’ve done business counselling, editing open learning materials, organising world-of-work workshops for sixth formers, I’ve worked in public sector, profit-seeking and voluntary organisations. I’ve trained with NLP Northeast as a Practitioner, Master Practitioner and Trainer.
I enjoy variety and trying new things and the way NLP invites us to just try it and see what happens. I’m even more curious now about how the world works, and how people work, and the way our heads make up ideas for us about how the world and people work (sometimes without our even knowing about it).
