Like to be in control of the fear, of the flying, of the plane, of you! Or any one of those?
1 in 5 people suffer from fear of flying, so there are other people out there, like you.
Having a fear of flying does not necessarily mean that you can't travel in a plane, in fact many people often do fly, but it is often an uncomfortable experience. You might spend a lot of time just worrying, about many things, you might spend a lot of time just coping, you might do many things. How uncomfortable all of this is will vary from person, as well as the way you “cope” with the fear.
A fear is our belief that we can't cope with something. This may have its foundation in reality because we have experienced something that confirms our fear, or it may just be totally irrational and that's okay!
Many of the fears we have are a mixture of reality and misinterpreting our ability to cope. The more we misinterpret the more likely we are to produce a phobia rather than a fear.
A phobia is basically made up of a considerable amount of irrationality. The person with the phobic feelings is generally well aware that their fear is irrational but they are unable to overcome the fear.
Fear of Flying can be called air phobia, aerophobia, or flying nerves - it is an intense fear of travelling by airplane.
We avoid going into the “whys and “where fors”, as we assume you know most things about your phobia, or fear, and what the things are that it does for you, which you would like to be rid of.
The good news is - You can learn how to manage your fears
A flying phobia can be dissolved. There’s no need to 'learn to live with it'. There’s no need to continue holding yourself back from air travel, or holding yourself back from holidays in far off places, or holding yourself back business trips that involve travel by air.
One of the quickest ways of getting past your fear of flying is to use NLP to help you get past your fear and then to spend a day with NLP Highland and Highland Aviation and put your new found freedom from the trauma of flying into practice.
Fear of Flying is a Phobia
To deal with fear of flying effectively you will need to acknowledge that it is not just a matter of your 'nerves', of developing determination or will-power, or of 'pulling yourself together'.
Fear of flying is a phobia. It may be a quite mild phobia or a severe one. But it is a phobia.
A phobia is an irrational fear
To be precise, it is a mainly irrational fear. Most phobias do have a degree of realism, and fear of flying is a partly rational and partly irrational fear.
Fear of flying is a learned fear - many people who are nervous flyers or are phobic of flying were once comfortable and confident air travellers.
Then something happened to move them from a slight fear towards a full blown phobia. Whatever it was is often irrelevant in terms of NLP.
We use NLP to skilfully question you the person with the phobia and to find out how you structure your phobia, then we ascertain how you want to be when you leave the session with us and using our knowledge of NLP and our language skills and possibly some NLP techniques we will help you get to where you want to be. On a plane and when you work together with us and Highland Aviation Flying School - actually flying a plane yourself, in this beautiful area in which we live and work.

In July 2010 Victor came on our Flying without Fear Day
Rosie promised Kate a ‘new husband’ whom she could take to Australia to see their daughter. Rosie always keeps her promises.
Kate kept hers and wrote to use recently
Hi Folks,
This is long overdue – just wanted to say a big ‘THANK YOU’ as the ‘Flight Experience Day’ that Victor had with you al l certainly helped him to make the decision and to make the flight to Australia.
We flew in autumn last year from Glasgow to Dubai had a stopover in Dubai then we continued our journey from Dubai to Perth, Australia.
My intentions were good as I had intended to send a postcard from Australia – you’ll have to settle for a couple of photos instead (the kangaroos are a bit of give away!!)
The beaches had beautiful clear blue water and cloudless blue skies – fantastic experience and some unforgettable memories.
Thank you once again, for your patience and understanding and for giving Victor the insight, the knowledge and the confidence which made the trip possible.
All the best
Victor and Kate
